Privacy Policy; Mr. Polaris

Effective date: June 11, 2026

Mr. Polaris (mrpolaris.com, "we", "us", "the Service") is a personal astrology web application that turns your birth details into a birth chart, a 12-month personal sky calendar, and related readings. This policy explains; in plain language; what happens to the information you type into the Service.

The short version: everything you enter stays on your own device. Your birth data, name, and personal details are never transmitted to our servers, never seen by us, and never sold or shared with anyone. We could not hand your data over to a third party even if we were asked to, because we do not have it.

1. Who We Are

Mr. Polaris is operated by an individual based in Texas, United States. The Service is provided free of charge, in 20 languages, to a global audience.

For anything related to this policy or your privacy, contact us at:

hello@mrpolaris.com

2. Data That Is Processed; But Never Collected

To generate your readings, the Service asks for:

Here is the part that makes Mr. Polaris different from most websites: all astrological and numerological computation happens entirely inside your web browser, on your device. The application is a static site. When you press "calculate," no form data is sent over the network. There is no account system, no sign-up, no database of users, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no third-party scripts that read your inputs.

In legal terms: we facilitate processing of your data on your own device, but we do not collect, receive, store, access, sell, or share it. Under the GDPR, this kind of purely personal, on-device use falls outside our reach as an operator; the data simply never arrives at our end.

This also applies to sensitive-looking outputs. The Service generates wellness, relationship, career, and character readings derived from your birth details. Because these readings are computed and displayed only on your device, neither the inputs nor the outputs are ever known to us.

3. Local Storage on Your Device (and How to Delete It)

So that you do not have to re-enter your details on every visit, the Service saves a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage. This storage lives only on your device and is never read by, or transmitted to, our servers. The keys used are:

Key What it stores Why
astro_input_v2 The form details you entered (name, birth data, profile answers) So your reading reloads automatically on your next visit
astro_theme Your light/dark theme choice Interface preference
astro_lang Your language choice Interface preference
astro_consent A flag (with timestamp) that you accepted the Terms So we do not ask again

An earlier version of the Service used a key called astro_log_v1 for a prediction-tracking feature that has since been removed. If it is still present in your browser, it contains only your own past ✓/✗ choices and can be deleted the same way as the rest.

You are in full control of this data. You can delete it at any time:

Deleting this data is immediate and complete; there is no server-side copy to chase.

Because this storage is used solely to provide the service you explicitly requested (remembering your own inputs and preferences), and not for analytics, advertising, or tracking, no cookie banner or consent pop-up is required under the EU ePrivacy rules. We still tell you about it here, because transparency is the point of this document.

4. Google Fonts (the One Network Request to Know About)

The Service currently loads its two typefaces (Fraunces and Inter) from the Google Fonts content delivery network (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser fetches these font files, your IP address and browser user-agent are sent to Google LLC in the United States, as with any web request. Google states that the Fonts API does not set cookies and that requests are not used for advertising profiling, but the IP transmission itself is a data disclosure to a third party that we want you to know about.

This is the only third-party network connection the Service makes. No personal data you type into the form is ever part of these requests; they are plain font-file downloads triggered when the page loads.

Planned change: we intend to self-host these font files on our own domain, which will remove this third-party connection entirely and make the Service a zero-third-party website. This policy will be updated when that change ships. If you wish to avoid the Google Fonts request in the meantime, you can block fonts.googleapis.com/fonts.gstatic.com with a content blocker; the Service will still work with your system fonts.

5. Server Access Logs

Like virtually every website, the server or hosting/CDN provider that delivers the static files of mrpolaris.com may automatically record standard access logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user-agent). These logs exist for security, abuse prevention, and operational stability; they are not used to identify or profile visitors, are not combined with anything you type into the Service (which never reaches the server anyway), and are retained only for the short period set by the hosting provider's standard configuration. The application itself does not add any logging of its own.

6. Children

Mr. Polaris is not directed at, or intended for, anyone under 16 years of age (or under the higher age of digital consent applicable in your country). We do not knowingly provide readings to children. Because no data is ever transmitted to us, we have no way of knowing any user's age; which is precisely why we ask that, if you are under 16, you do not use the Service, and that parents and guardians supervise minors' use of any astrology content. The Service is not subject to COPPA data obligations because it does not collect personal information from anyone, including children; nevertheless, the age expectation above applies.

7. Your Privacy Rights

7.1 If You Are in the European Union / EEA / UK (GDPR)

The GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (Articles 15–21). For the data you enter into Mr. Polaris, the honest answer is: you already hold all of these rights in your own hands, literally, because the data lives only in your browser:

The only processing where we act as a data controller is (a) the Google Fonts request described in Section 4 (until we self-host) and (b) the routine hosting access logs in Section 5. For these you may contact us at hello@mrpolaris.com with any request or question. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We do not perform any data transfers of your form data to any country, because that data never leaves your device.

7.2 If You Are in Turkey (KVKK)

Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), data subjects have rights under Article 11, including learning whether their data is processed, requesting correction or deletion, and objecting to adverse outcomes. As explained above, your birth and profile data is never transmitted to us and we never become a data controller (veri sorumlusu) for it; all such processing happens on your own device under your own control, and you can delete it yourself at any moment (Section 3). For the limited IP processing described in Sections 4–5, you may exercise your KVKK Article 11 rights by writing to hello@mrpolaris.com.

7.3 If You Are in California or Another US State (CCPA/CPRA and Similar Laws)

We do not collect, sell, or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act or comparable state laws, and we do not meet those laws' applicability thresholds. There is nothing for us to disclose, delete, or stop selling, because your information never reaches us. Your rights to know, delete, and correct are satisfied by design: the data is on your device and under your exclusive control (Section 3). If you have any question, contact hello@mrpolaris.com.

7.4 Everyone, Everywhere

Regardless of where you live, the same architecture applies: your inputs stay on your device, you can delete them at any time, and the only data that ever touches a third party is the technical font request described in Section 4 (until removed) and routine hosting logs (Section 5).

8. What We Will Never Do Without Telling You First

If the Service ever introduces features that change this picture; accounts, server-side processing, AI-generated readings via an external API, payments, or analytics; we will update this policy before those features launch, present the changes clearly, and, where the law requires it (for example, for any health-related inferences processed on a server), ask for your explicit consent first. Until then, the promise stands: your data does not leave your device.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will always reflect the latest version, and material changes will be announced with a notice on the Service itself before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means the updated policy applies.
